Welcome back, creative friends! Let’s dive into something fun today. I’m excited to show you how I made this adorable clothespin wreath for my laundry room. And guess what? Every single piece I used came from my local Dollar Tree! Yep, you read that right—from the wreath base to the sign in the middle, everything is dollar store magic. Ready to craft your own budget-friendly laundry room décor? Well, grab all your stuff & let’s get crafty!

- Acrylic paint in white and black
- Laundry-themed wall sticker (mine says “Wash, Fold, Dry, Repeat”)

- Plastic plate (for painting)
- Hot glue gun (meet Gustavo!)
- Paint palette
- Scissors

- Parchment paper
- Rubber gloves
- Toothpicks

Crafting the Sign
Let’s start with the sign! I used a simple wood round and gave it two thin coats of white acrylic paint. Once that dried, I added two coats of varnish to protect the paint. Pro tip: The varnish prevents the stickers from pulling up any paint if you need to reposition them. Trust me—you’ll thank me later!

Painting Your Clothespins
While the paint and varnish on your sign dry, let’s move on to the clothespins. We’re creating a pattern with white, black, and natural wood tones. Here’s how I calculated the number of clothespins for my 14-inch wreath base:

For painting, I recommend two coats to get a vibrant, even finish. Don’t forget the bottoms and edges! Look, I won’t pretend that my method for painting clothespins isn’t a bit extra. You could easily spray paint your clothespins or just give them a really quick coat of paint, letting the wood peak through. Do what looks the best to you!

Layout & Attach Your Stickers
Once your sign is dry, it’s time to plan out the sticker placement. The stickers I used were slightly larger than expected, so I cut them out individually to arrange them just right. (Pro tip: Draw light pencil guidelines on the wood for easier placement—it’ll save you time!)
After you’re happy with the layout, carefully peel and stick! If you’re like me and have a hard time getting everything perfectly straight, don’t stress. Just give it your best shot!

To secure the sign to the wreath, take pipe cleaners and hot glue them to the back of your wooden sign in an cross formation. Make sure the pipe cleaners extend past the edge of the sign for easy tying. Once the glue is dry, add an extra dollop of glue on top to hold the pipe cleaners firmly in place. This will allow you to easily attach the sign to the wreath base by threading the pipe cleaners through the wires and twisting them tightly to secure.
Assembling the Wreath
Now that everything is painted and the sign is done, let’s start attaching the clothespins. Clip an unpainted clothespin onto the two innermost rings of the wreath frame, and alternate colors: 4 unpainted, 2 white, 2 black, 2 more white, and 4 unpainted per section.
Make sure to pack those clothespins tightly—like cramming into a car for a family road trip in 1988!

Once your clothespins are in place, center your sign and use pipe cleaners we secured to the back to securely attach it to the wreath frame.

Final Touches
The last step is adding a piece of jute cord for hanging, and then you’re done! It’s time for the grand reveal. Can you believe how easy this was? And look at that sign—stickers have never looked so good!
And that’s how easy it is to create your own clothespin wreath for the laundry room! It’s a fun, affordable project that adds a personal touch to your space, and you can customize it however you like. Want to see exactly how I did it, step by step?
